A little description of our Casa Chica.
In 2004, Andy and Sally purchased Casa Chica. It took a year to renovate the building, and the interior was decorated in the traditional Moorish Style typical of this area of Spain, fitted with the original chestnut beams, hand-made tiles and local fabrics.
As you come up the stairs to the entrance, you pass the pool, on one side of the pool is the twin-bedroom which has an en-suite. The twins can be pushed & zipped together to form a double. This room is heated by a fan heater. On the opposite side you will find the porch and main entrance to the house.
As you enter the front door of the house, on your left you will see the kitchen (fully equipped with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas hobs, electric cooker). The design of this house was very much open plan to create a vibrant living space which feels spacious and looks attractive.
On your right is the living room, which has two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed (can sleep 2). In the winter months the wood-burning stove is perfect to heat up the house (although there is central heating). There is a table and seating for 6/8 people, however the benches may also be used as a bed.
Between the living room and the dining room there is a desk which can be put up if the workspace is required.
Opposite the dining table there are two doors which open onto a balcony with an extra table for dining Al fresco (perfect for the summer mornings). Past the dining room you will find the master bedroom which has a double bed and an en-suite shower room.
If you exit the front door, there are some stairs to your left, these lead down to the other twin-bedroom (also has an en-suite with shower & loo). The twin beds can be made into a double. Except the pool room the bedrooms have a central heating thermostat so in the winter the house is still nice and cosy. The pool room has a fan heater. In the summer months when the temperature starts to rise, the rooms will stay cool as they have fans on the ceilings.
There is a large roof terrace, which is home to a utility room (contains washing machine) along with 4 sun-loungers and a set of table and chairs. This allows you to use the roof-top terrace for sun bathing in the day and dining at night, perfect for the summer months when the temperatures reach up to 35°C in the day. However don't let this keep you from exploring the beautiful scenery of the surrounding areas such as the Ridge (background photo is of the Ridge, taken from the roof terrace of the house)
